Christmas Radio 24/7

Christmas time, in the 1930s and the 1940's meant putting a log in the fire, making a big dinner, decorating and putting up a large tree, and listening to the radio. In fact, the main source of entertainment was The Radio. The series that were on at the time were directly out of Vaudeville. From Jack's penny pinching during his holiday shopping, to Fibber finding where he hid his Christmas money, to Lionell Barrymore playing Scrooge, that was old time radio.

Holiday Music now warms your soul with the very best of the holidays. Featuring rock, pop, jazz, country, R&B, Hawaiian, cabaret artists, and more!

Particular thought has to go into Christmas radio, because it's the person who's cooking who's listening to it, and they already feel so aggrieved about cooking that one duff audio moment could tip them over the edge. The programming has to be slightly elitist, rewarding the long-time listener and shutting out the rest of the family.

At such times, the story of Christmas brings special comfort and confidence. For 2000 years, Christmas has proclaimed a message of hope: the patient hope of men and women across centuries who listened to the words of prophets and lived in joyful expectation, the hope of Mary who welcomed God's plan with great faith, and the hope of Wise Men who set out on a long journey, guided only by a promise traced in the stars.
