The Chicago Cubs are a professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members and defending champions of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's National League. The club has played their home games at historic Wrigley Field since 1916, and are one of two Major League clubs in Chicago, the other being the Chicago White Sox. The Cubs are one of the only two remaining charter members left in the NL, the other being the Atlanta Braves.

The history of the Chicago Cubs is filled with ups and downs and iconic figures on and off the field all while residing in one of the most recognizable ballparks in baseball. It is no secret that the Chicago Cubs are known for their futility when it comes to winning world championships. They haven't won one since 1908, but you wouldn't know it by looking at the fans of the Chicago Cubs.

Die hard fans sell out Chicago Cubs tickets year in and year out, filling Wrigley Field -- the second oldest stadium only behind Boston's Fenway Park -- every game to cheer on their Cubbies! Without a doubt Chicago Cubs tickets are one of the hardest to find.

The Chicago Cubs were known as the tough luck team. Whether it was blamed on management, players or the way the sun came up, the team has remained without a title since 1908.

How much does a team's win-loss record matter? The value is clearly influenced by whether the team is consistently in the running for championships. In recent years, the Cubs "have changed from being a mascot and a nostalgia trip to being an actual contender," says A.E.G.

Last year, they won their division. The team's recent success is widely attributed to some aggressive moves, including bringing in Lou Piniella as manager, signing outfielder Alfonso Soriano to an eight-year, $136 million contract, and pitcher Carlos Zambrano to a five-year, $91.5 million deal. Anderson gives the Cubs a 20 percent premium, adding another $100 million to the value.

Now in 2008, Lou Pinella and the Chicago Cubs are looking to make history and win the World Series for the first time in 100 years.
