Some people don't realize the &lt;br /&gt;responsibility attached to that question.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some don't realize YOU must take personal responsibility &lt;br /&gt;for your change. No one can do it for you. If they did, your &lt;br /&gt;change wouldn't be permanent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In fact, any change you make will be temporary unless YOU &lt;br /&gt;take responsibility for your change. In my practice, I always &lt;br /&gt;ask "Are YOU ready to take responsibility for this change? &lt;br /&gt;Will YOU implement it now?" Will YOU make it permanent?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We have all created what we are experiencing. How about these?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do you repeat the same daily motions to start your day?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do you go to the store the same way every time?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How about when you get angry? Do you take the same steps? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, you have a thought. Then, your body tenses up. Then, &lt;br /&gt;you say the wrong things.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, if this isn't what you want in your life, you can change.&lt;br /&gt;You can change the sequence and come up with a different &lt;br /&gt;response. For instance, you can have the thought that normally &lt;br /&gt;starts the anger routine. Then, you realize what is about to &lt;br /&gt;happen and you laugh. Yes, you laugh. Out loud. Decide from now on that your ways to feel good &lt;br /&gt;are pretty easy, and your ways to feel bad are going to be &lt;br /&gt;pretty hard.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Decide from now on that it's too much trouble to feel bad &lt;br /&gt;if supper isn't ready on time. Decide that it's too much &lt;br /&gt;trouble to feel bad if your favorite team loses a game. &lt;br /&gt;Decide that it's too much trouble to feel bad if you don't &lt;br /&gt;meet a self-imposed deadline.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Realize how easy it is to feel good even if the sun doesn't &lt;br /&gt;shine. Realize how easy it is to feel good even if you are &lt;br /&gt;late for work. Realize how easy it is to feel good even if &lt;br /&gt;you don't meet your goal this week. You can try again &lt;br /&gt;next week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Decide to feel good and you will feel good. Decide to feel &lt;br /&gt;bad and you will feel bad. Write a poem about it?  &lt;br /&gt;Even turn that poem into a song?  Then, you sing that little song &lt;br /&gt;so much you know it by heart and whenever you think about that &lt;br /&gt;goal, your song comes to mind and your heart sings.
