The Cherubim Angels

There are three Spheres of Angels. The first Sphere is the Angels who serve as heavenly counselors. They are Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones. The second Sphere, heavenly governors, holds Dominions, Virtues, and Powers. The Third Sphere, Angels who function as heavenly messengers, are Principalities, Archangels, and Angels.
Cherubim Angels are guardians of light, and of the stars. They aren't really in our sphere of reality, still, their light touches our lives. It is the divine light they filter down from Heaven.
God is often described in the Old Testament as sitting on a throne surrounded by Cherubim. Cherubs are described as chubby and baby-faced Angels, therefore, I always think of babies or toddlers when I think of Cherubim. When I pray for children, I sometimes imagine them surrounded by their own kind of Angel, which is to me the cherubs.
