Do You Have A Sense Of Certainty Or Uncertainty?

Do you have a sense of certainty? What does that mean? It's really very simple, actually. You either feel certain about something or you feel uncertain. If you don't have a sense of certainty about it, you have a sense of uncertainty. The uncertainty throws you off balance . . .

Would you like to know how to have a sense of certainty about something? Here is an exercise that will show you how.

Here are different feelings. Experience them one at a time.

Feel uncertain.
Feel worry.
Feel uncertain.
Feel fear.
Feel uncertain.
Feel doubt.
Feel uncertain.
Feel CERTAIN. (Everyone has a feeling of certainty about something. Find what that is that you feel certain about and enhance it.)

Now, repeat the practice several times until you feel CERTAIN instantaneously on the last step. When that happens, touch your thumb and finger (from your dominant hand) together. Make sure you only do that -- it's called triggering -- when you are at the peak.

Now, that you've learned to feel certain when you want to, why not learn to work with uncertainty in the times when it pops up and catches us unaware? Why? Because uncertainty can immobilize us. We have a fear of uncertainty.

That said, why not learn to enjoy uncertainty, so that it *can't* throw you off. You've triggered CERTAINTY into your life, why not trigger uncertainty into a joy? That way you can be open to all that is around you.

Here are the feelings again, with a little twist.

Feel uncertain.
Feel joy and wonder.
Feel uncertain.
Feel joy and openness.
Feel uncertain.
Feel joy and curiosity.
Feel uncertain.
Feel JOY.

Now, repeat the practice several times until you feel JOY instantaneously whenever you feel uncertainty. (If you don't want to feel joy, that's OK. Change it to something you DO want to feel.) When that happens, touch your thumb and *second* finger (on your dominant hand) together. Remember to only do that when you are at the peak.

Don't let your fear of the uncertain stop you from succeeding. If you have a challenge, ask yourself if there's a different, more knowledgeable viewpoint. Think about uncertainty in different areas of your life, see how it feels when you trigger the feeling of JOY. Changes the prospect, doesn't it?

Here's something that will help you remember the exercise:

Write on an index card in BIG letters *Feel CERTAINTY today*.

Or . . .

Write on an index card in BIG letters *Feel JOY today*.

Depending on what is the bigger of your challenges, carry that card in your pocket for 21 days straight, making sure to take it out and read it often.

When the 21 days are over, start all over again with the next card. Start meeting your challenges. Start living life, enjoying life, taking charge of your life.

Good luck!

Thanks for reading,

Jan
