How
To Be Just Right
~ By Jan Tincher Copyright
© Jan Tincher - All Rights reserved Are you too tall? Too short? Too fat? Too skinny? Too ugly? Too poor? . . . Nah! You really aren't *too* anything. It's just *low self-esteem talk* going on in your head. Does that make sense? I mean, I've seen very un-beautiful people that were very popular. It is obvious their self-esteem isn't low. Somehow, they have made it so others could get past the *You have to be beautiful* requirement and on to accepting them. Now, what did those people who helped people get past that *You have to be beautiful* requirement have? Great self esteem! Where does low self-esteem come from? YOU. Where does great self-esteem come from? YOU. If you have low self-esteem, YOU don't think you measure up. Have you seen others with low self esteem? You could almost see their mind whirring around with all those doubt thoughts. He/she doesn't like me because . . . Just fill in the blank. In order for you to be too tall, too short, too fat, too skinny, too ugly, too poor, you have to have someone with whom to compare. I mean, are you too short because . . . others are taller? In order to make yourself odd, you have to make someone else *normal*. That's something worth remembering, isn't it? You are standing there talking to someone, and if you aren't the same height they are, YOU are weird? NOT! How about if, in your mind, you shrink the tall person you are talking to until they are just your size? How does that make you feel? Or you grow the short person you are talking to until they are just your size? How does that make you feel? There is always a common ground. Instead of thinking about how different YOU are, why not spend that time finding how you two are alike? That will give you good things to think about, and before you know it, you will have made a friend! Isn't that what's great about different people? If you look past their differences, you'll find a friend peaking out at you! Good luck! Thanks for reading, Jan P.S.
