Yes,
Men, You Too Can Have PMS! Copyright
© Jan Tincher - All Rights reserved Do you have PMS? Or should I say "a" PMS? (Personal Mission Statement)? . . . A Personal Mission Statement is something like: I am kind, considerate, loving, giving, forgiving, etc. Meaning it is your personal mission in life to be all of those things. If these are in your Personal Mission Statement, do you feel you live up to it? Or do you feel you let yourself down a certain percentage of the time? When you were little, did you walk "ahead" of your grandma or mom or friend for fear people would think you were with them? Do you find yourself doing that now with a friend or a loved one for whatever reason? If so, does that fit your PMS? No, huh? Well, how about digging deeper? Do you only invite certain people to your parties? Do you pay more for gifts for some and not others? Do you dress better when you go here and not when you go elsewhere? Are you more tolerant of a friend than your child/spouse? Do you check to see *what’s in it for me?* before doing something? You know, if you are happy with whatever you’ve said yes to the above -- that’s OK. But for those of you who aren’t happy with these or any other actions because they don’t fit your PMS, maybe this will help: Every morning, look in the mirror and say your Personal Mission Statement. Start out by saying, "My Personal Mission Statement is", then follow with whatever you feel your Personal Mission Statement is. Here are some examples: I am kind, considerate and loving. I love, I am loved, I am loving. I treat everyone equally. I appreciate the good points of everyone I’m with and I set the not-so-good points aside. I focus on the good things today. Whenever I see someone, my thoughts are *What can I do to help you today? If I see someone with a problem, today I will help them. When the above, or something equally motivating, is said with feeling every day, several times a day, that’s where your life will go. Do you rule your Personal Mission Statement, or do you find yourself wishing you were better? Here’s how you can tell: Visualize yourself walking or talking to someone. Are you a walking, talking advertisement for your Personal Mission Statement? Or are your shoulders slumped, your eyes down, your walk slow -- or anything else that broadcasts you aren’t in control? If that’s the case, practice walking the way that says you are in control, talking the way that says you are in control, acting the way that says you are in control. If you practice it enough, you will soon consistently feel that way. Decide who you are or want to be -- what your Personal Mission Statement is -- and act it! And isn’t it great to reassign the meaning people usually give PMS? And, by the way, are there other meanings you can reassign in your life? If so, why not find a way to change them, too? Thanks
