Do you get stressed? How does that
feel in your body?
Does it feel like bubbly little gases in your stomach?
Can you visualize those bubbly little gases (or whatever stress
feels like to you)?
TIP: Your brain needs to *see* what it is that is causing your
stressed reaction in your body. When it can see it, it can do
something about it.
Once you do that, visualize a "fix". Like a pin pricking
each bubble into nothingness. If there's anything left, visualize
a cleaning crew coming through and putting it in trash bags and
carting it away.
How does your stomach feel now? Better, right?
If bubbly gases aren't your problem, figure out what is.
Visualize it, then figure out a way to get rid of it in your mind.
There's no need to be stressed. Especially once you know you can
do something
about it.

Do you ever feel frustrated?
Think for a moment. If you were feeling frustrated right now,
what would happen if you smiled? Smile and see.
It didn't change what happened to make you frustrated, did it?
No.
But for a nanosecond you felt better -- or at least better than
frustrated.
Now . . . which would you rather feel? Frustrated or happy?
You've just shown yourself that you can be frustrated and still
feel happy -- or if not happy, then at least different. If you
spent more time smiling, you'd spend less time feeling frustrated.
If you are frustrated, your productivity level is down. Why not
smile?

Your brain works in pictures.
Visualize what you want so your brain can bring it to you.
Do you *wish* you had less stress?
Do you *wish* you had more patience?
Do you *wish* you had more energy?
Your brain works in pictures. *Wishing* is not a picture. *Wishing*
is so far out there, your brain doesn't even recognize it. *Wishing*
is just saying something like, *Oh, I wish I could do, have, be
. . .*
Picture having what you want. See
your *wishes* come true.

Would you like a stressless life?
Take stock of how many rules you live by. The law of averages
says that if you have
too many rules, somebody's going to violate one of them just about
any time, any day.
If your rules are violated, you have stress.
Take note of the parents of multiple births. When asked how they
keep their sanity, the reply was, "We don't have too many
rules."

Which of these three do you do most?
Look toward the future.
Look back at the past.
Look at the present.
They all are valuable experiences.
IF you look toward the future with hope.
IF you look at the past and learn from your mistakes.
IF you look at the present and make it the way you want it to
be.

Let's not live life like a rat race
to see who comes in first.
Let's stop along the way to live every moment to its fullest.
Look for ways to share yourself and your life with others.
Smile.
Learn that you can come in last and still be first where it counts.
In your heart.

At any given moment you can create
or change your emotions.
Knowing that, if you don't feel good mentally, why not choose
to?
Why not just decide to feel good RIGHT NOW. Watch how your body
reacts to that thought.
You're alive, enjoy it.

Pretend you are at a crossroads.
Forget your past.
Think about who you are NOW.
Don't think about who you WERE. Think about who you ARE or you've
decided to become.
Feel how that feels. See yourself as you want other people to
see you.
Hear yourself speaking as though you are what you have decided
to become.
Decide right now to be that person. Make this decision immediately.
Make this decision powerfully. Make this decision permanently.
Now, go out and be that person! Live life to the fullest!

Do you feel despair?
Turn your heart toward love.
What if you can't, you ask?
The answer is, if you can't, you MUST.

The only competition you will ever
have is in your own mind.
If you think you are bad, you are bad.
If you think you are good, you are good.
Make a good image. When you have a good image of yourself, it
eliminates competition from your life by moving you from competitive
plane to creative plane. You make what you are. If you aren't
what you want, change it.
You will soon understand that the only competition you'll ever
have is in your own mind.
If you can accept what you are, or are making of yourself, there
is no longer any need to compete.
What are you? What are you thinking?

What are *dominant thoughts*?
Dominant thoughts are goals or obsessions that you continually
think about. They are what your actual priorities are.
Look around your life and you will see the results of your dominant
thoughts.

What is Self-Talk?
Self-talk is what you say to yourself. The silent conversations
you have with yourself every waking second of your life.
Self-talk comes out in the conversations you have with others.
If you don't like what you say to others, watch what you say to
yourself.
What kind of self-talk do YOU have? Is it stressful or peaceful?

Bad things are happening all the time.
Good things are happening all the time.
What you are paying attention to controls how your body will feel.
If you are hearing, reading, seeing bad things all the time, then
that is how your body will ultimately be feeling. It won't be
able to help it. Eventually it will stress out.
It's just like you can't put a child in a family that yells and
curses all the time and expect her or him to feel happy.
Think about it. Take control of your environment so that you can
live a happy and stress free life. Give yourself a chance.

Do you know when problems occur?
Problems usually occur when there is a gap between where you are
and where you want to be.
In other words, as soon as you define a goal, you've made a problem
because you don't yet have your goal.
Problems are lessened when goals are stated as projects and a
map of sorts is made to get to the goal.
That being the case, the minute you make a goal, make plans on
how you can achieve it. You bypass the *problem* area instantly.
Wa-la. You'll eliminate stress instantly!

If you adopted a new set of words, wouldn't that change your stress
level?
How about if you said you were *annoyed,* instead of *enraged*?
Or *kind of upset,* instead of *damn mad*?
Or *those funny people,* instead of *those clowns!*?
If you have a word that indicates just how stressed you are, why
not try replacing it? See if that doesn't help your emotional
state. When you see how well that works, why don't you check out
the rest of your vocabulary? See the changes that can make in
your life.

What is a cliché?
It's a phrase which has lost its meaning through constant use.
Is the meaning you give your life and your stress level a cliché?
Give it a new twist. See if you can give your life a new meaning.

Do you feel stressed? Why not mentally say this to yourself several
times a day: "I am relaxed. I can handle everything. I am
calm. I am capable."
Guess what? Pretty soon you will be relaxed and able to handle
everything. You will be calm and capable. Why? Because your brain
only knows what it's been told. If you keep telling it this --
instead of what you have been telling it -- things will be OK.

Do your employees, children, spouse,
coworkers make mistakes?
Do you let them make mistakes without fear of punishment or rejection?
If you do, you know there's a difference. There's a difference
in the process and there's a difference in the outcome.
Treat mistakes as learning devices that are stepping stones to
success, and you'll succeed faster and with much less stress.

Do you know the power of self-talk?
Pretend your brain is on your shoulder.
Now, it can only hear what you tell it. It can't hear what others
are telling you. It can only hear what you are thinking and saying.
It doesn't matter what others are telling you if you don't believe
them. You filter what they say and that's what your brain hears.
Does it hear, *I don't believe that. How can anyone think I'm
pretty?* *I don't think that two martinis are bad for you.* *How
can anyone possibly want my opinion? I'm so stupid.* Whatever
you are thinking, your brain is listening. What if you said, *I'm
getting better every day.*? Your brain has no idea what you are
talking about, so it just goes about making you better at the
things you do. You've just given yourself a chance at a stress
free life. Congratulations!

Remember this for your New Year's Resolution. Every cause brings
its effect. Every action has a consequence.
What does that mean?
If you plant apples, you'll reap apples. If you plant goodness,
you'll reap goodness. Start your new year out planting lots of
goodness.
Smile as you reap the rewards.
Look at every action you make. What will it bring you? Stress
or peace? If you don't like what it will bring you, ultimately,
then start finding new actions to use.
